Engine Room Resource Management (ERRM)

Scope:
Engine Room Resouce Management is a training program designed to equip marine engineers the principles of resource management, the understanding of the proper utilization and considerations given to resources available in a maritime engine department, the technical and  non-technical skills associated in engine room  duties, the interaction between team members, and decision-making. It also aims to increase knowledge about human capabilities and limitations and to safeguard positive attitudes to safety, situational and cultural diversity awareness.
 
The course provides essential concepts followed by exercises on the engine room simulator including actual case study on engine room procedures and practices, engine room communications, and factors affecting human performance.
 
The course syllabus/material used to design this course is current and relevant, appropriate and reflects industry best practice. As it also meet the requirements of the STCW amendments, Regulation I/12, Sections A-III/1&2 and A&B-VIII/2.

Entry standards:
Entry to the course is open to those who have background and knowledge to marine engineering and have completed the IMO Model Course 2.07 Engine-Room Simulator Course.
A team of varied ranks, Chief Engineer, First/Second Engineer, Second/Third Engineer and Third/Fourth Enginee will work best to achieve the objective of the course.
